Moose-FARMS
Description
Overview:
MOOSE FARMS (Fault and Rupture Mechanics Simulations) is a MOOSE-based application for simulating dynamic rupture and earthquake problems. The faults are idealized as interfaces which are discretized using a cohesive zone model. It adopts various frictional laws like slip weakening and rate-and-state friction. It can handle complex fault geometry via GMSH support (main fault with branches, branch network). It also includes additional constitutive laws like the continuum damage-breakage rheology model for simulating off-fault damage during a dynamic event.
Features:
Explicit dynamic simulation for fault rupture propagation in 2D and 3D
Support for complex fault geometries using GMSH
Additional constitutive law: continuum damage-breakage rheology model
